押沙龙和以色列众人说、亚基人户筛的计谋、比亚希多弗的计谋更好．这是因耶和华定意破坏亚希多弗的良谋、为要降祸与押沙龙。亚希多弗见不依从他的计谋、就备上驴、归回本城、到了家、留下遗言、便吊死了、葬在他父亲的坟墓里。
Absalom and all the men of Israel said, "The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel." For Yahweh had ordained to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that Yahweh might bring evil on Absalom. When Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his donkey, and arose, and went home, to his city, and set his house in order, and hanged himself; and he died, and was buried in the tomb of his father.
主耶稣！神的话说，挖陷坑的、自己必掉在其中．滚石头的、石头必反滚在他身上。主啊！愿祢兴起敬畏祢名的谋士，渗透在我国的政治界，商界，教育界，艺术界，传媒，娱乐界，民间组织，使一切做恶的饱受挫败，蒙羞自灭。
