亚希多弗对押沙龙说、你父所留下看守宫殿的妃嫔、你可以与他们亲近．以色列众人听见你父亲憎恶你．凡归顺你人的手、就更坚强。于是人为押沙龙在宫殿的平顶上、支搭帐棚．押沙龙在以色列众人眼前、与他父的妃嫔亲近。那时、亚希多弗所出的主意、好象人问神的话一样．他昔日给大卫今日给押沙龙所出的主意、都是这样。
Ahithophel said to Absalom, "Go in to your father's concubines, that he has left to keep the house. Then all Israel will hear that you are abhorred by your father. Then the hands of all who are with you will be strong." So they spread Absalom a tent on the top of the house; and Absalom went in to his father's concubines in the sight of all Israel. The counsel of Ahithophel, which he gave in those days, was as if a man inquired at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.
主耶稣！亚希多弗与大卫王同事，有神的灵同在，亚希多弗有从神来的主意，人就把亚希多弗当神。主啊！我要熟悉神的话，若是有人奉神的名说话，却不与神的真理对齐时，我必与他隔离，免得我会不知不觉中把人当神。
