撒下24:15-16
于是耶和华降瘟疫与以色列人、自早晨到所定的时候．从但直到别是巴、民间死了七万人。天使向耶路撒冷伸手要灭城的时候、耶和华后悔、就不降这灾了、吩咐灭民的天使说、够了、住手吧。那时耶和华的使者在耶布斯人亚劳拿的禾场那里。大卫看见灭民的天使、就祷告耶和华、说、我犯了罪、行了恶．但这群羊作了甚么呢。愿你的手攻击我、和我的父家。
So Yahweh sent a pestilence on Israel from the morning even to the appointed time; and there died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba seventy thousand men. When the angel stretched out his hand toward Jerusalem to destroy it, Yahweh relented of the disaster, and said to the angel who destroyed the people, "It is enough. Now stay your hand." The angel of Yahweh was by the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite. David spoke to Yahweh when he saw the angel who struck the people, and said, "Behold, I have sinned, and I have done perversely; but these sheep, what have they done? Please let your hand be against me, and against my father's house."
主耶稣！世人都犯了罪，亏欠神的荣耀，人心越来越邪恶，耶和华神审判世界之日已定，无人能避免。主啊！耶和华神如何怜悯以色列民，改变灭城的指令。在未日来到时，愿神的怜悯也临到祢的子民。
