撒下24:11
大卫早晨起来、耶和华的话临到先知迦得、就是大卫的先见、说、你去告诉大卫说、耶和华如此说、我有三样灾、随你选择一样、我好降与你。于是迦得来见大卫、对他说、你愿意国中有七年的饥荒呢．是在你敌人面前逃跑、被追赶三个月呢．是在你国中有三日的瘟疫呢．现在你要揣摩思想、我好回复那差我来的。大卫对迦得说、我甚为难．我愿落在耶和华的手里、因为他有丰盛的怜悯．我不愿落在人的手里。
When David rose up in the morning, the word of Yahweh came to the prophet Gad, David's seer, saying, "Go and speak to David, 'Thus says Yahweh, "I offer you three things. Choose one of them, that I may do it to you." So Gad came to David, and told him, and said to him, "Shall seven years of famine come to you in your land? Or will you flee three months before your foes while they pursue you? Or shall there be three days' pestilence in your land? Now answer, and consider what answer I shall return to him who sent me." David said to Gad, "I am in distress. Let us fall now into the hand of Yahweh; for his mercies are great. Let me not fall into the hand of man."
主耶稣！以色列民和大卫王的过犯，面对耶和华神公义的律，必须受处罚，大卫王选择耶和华神怜悯的律。主啊！我承认我和我家，也有软弱的时候，必须面对公义的律，我求耶和华神的怜悯，求神亲手管教我，不愿落在人的手里。
